How to win at Pick 4

Pick 4 is very similar to Pick 3. Despite this, you cannot play Pick 4 the way you play Pick 3. With 10,000 possible combinations, the odds on picking four digits in the correct order is ten times as difficult. The good news is that the prize money is ten times higher too.

The first thing you need is a recent copy of your game´s history, and update it to the most recent drawing.

Look at the drawing results :

1. In the Pick 4 lots of times two digits of the four digits will repeat within two draws.
2. Drawings with all four digits different (like : 2345) hit about fifty-fifty with drawings with one digit doubled (like : 2448).
3. Try to find a pattern in these results (game history of your state) too.

In the Pick 4 there are :

• 5,040 sets with all four digits different (1234),
• 4,320 sets with one digit doubled (1224),
• 270 sets with 2 digits doubled (2244),
• 360 sets with 1 triple + 1 digit (1141),
• 10 sets of quads (4444)

Which makes a total of 10,000 combinations.

Look at it like this :

• 625 combinations (6.25%) are all odd. Ex.: 1357
• 625 combinations (6.25%) are all even. Ex.: 2468
• 2,500 combinations (25%) have 3 odd and 1 even number. Ex.: 1356
• 2,500 combinations (25%) have 3 even and 1 odd number. Ex.: 2467
• 3,750 combinations (37.5%) are equally even/odd. Ex.: 2435

To hit a straight (the 4 numbers in the Exact Order), your odds are 1:10,000. If you have 4 numbers in mind, you can play a 24-way Box/Combo. The digits in a 4-digit number can be arranged in 24 possible positions. That way you are sure to hit a straight when those numbers are drawn. Example: the 24 possible positions (in maths they call it permutations) of the 4-digit number 1234 are :

• 1234,1243,1423,4123,1324,1342,
• 1432,4132,3124,3142,3412,4312,
• 2134,2143,2413,4213,2314,2341,
• 2431,4231,3214,3241,3421,4321.

Another useful tool is the 4-digit combinations generator. Use it to generate all possible combinations of 4-digit numbers out of another group of numbers with more then 4 digits. For example if you have 5 or 6 numbers in mind, or want to play only odd numbers (1,3,5,7,9) or even numbers (2,4,6,8,0). It can take time (sometimes much time) before you hit a straight. Remember there are ten times more possible combinations then at the Pick 3. But the payouts are ten times higher too. And if you don´t have the extra cash to play with, while you develope your pick 4 strategies, then play on paper to test-drive them. This can be a bit frustrating. Especially, when you win on paper. But believe me, it´s the best way. It´s no use to spend the rent.
