About the Euro Millions Lottery
Euro Millions is a European lottery that takes place once a week, on Friday evening. Originally launched by Française des Jeux (France), Camelot (England) and Loterias y Apuestas del Estado (Spain), the first Euro Millions draw was made on Friday 13 February 2004.
There are nine countries currently participating in EuroMillions. In alphabetical order, these are Austria, Belgium, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. (Other European countries are expected join in the "party").
The stakes of participating countries are pooled, which makes the amount of potential winnings very attractive. The main prize pool is “rolled over” to the next draw if there is no jackpot winner. Prizes can - after a few weeks without a winner - be as high as 100 million Euros.
